Washington, D.C. - Ladies' Home Journal Magazine, in its June issue that is on the newsstands today, publishes a hard-hitting look at illegal gun trafficking in America.
“Journalist Lisa Prevost and Ladies' Home Journal investigated the death of Wake County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Department investigator Mark Tucker and ended up finding a far larger story: Our nation’s weak gun laws directly and inarguably allow the easy movement of guns into the hands of criminals,” said Paul Helmke, President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
“We have 32 gun murders in this country every day, and we need to be asking our elected officials what they are you going to do about it. This is not an insolvable problem,” Helmke said.
The magazine published a response form for readers to send in urging Congress to take action to curb illegal gun trafficking. The petition is also on the magazine’s web site, at www.lhj.com.
